Looking Back at a Milestone Year: EcoCocon’s Factory Opening and Beyond

As 2025 approaches, we reflect on a remarkable year for EcoCocon and green construction. Our key highlight was the grand opening of our new fully automated production facility in Voderady this September - a pivotal moment that sets the stage for a new era for natural building materials.

A Factory Built for the Future

This state-of-the-art factory, the first of its kind, has been a game-changer for us and the industry. With an annual production capacity of 60,000 m² of timber-straw wall panels, we’re one step closer to bringing bio-based construction materials into the mainstream. The factory embodies our values, storing over 77 tons of CO₂ in its straw-and-timber structure and operating entirely on solar energy.

Scaling Impact Together

Looking back, we’re proud of how far we’ve come since our founding in 2008. With this new facility, we’ve expanded our ability to deliver on our mission: making natural materials the foundation of modern construction. This year, we’ve not only celebrated the factory’s opening but also strengthened our commitment to innovation and growth. As Bjørn Kierulf announced, we have set an ambitious target: to produce 1 million square meters of EcoCocon panels annually by 2034.

Looking Ahead

As we step into 2025, we’re more determined than ever to accelerate the green building revolution. The new factory is just the beginning—we’re excited to continue working with architects, builders, and visionaries who share our belief in a sustainable future, making the new factory a blueprint for many more to come.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re building more than just walls; we’re building a sustainable way of living that creates a safer future for the generations to come.

Designing with EcoCocon in BIM - A New Tool for Architects

As an aid in the architectural design process, we are introducing a new tool for architects to incorporate EcoCocon wall elements in their projects. Using Autodesk Revit provides a simple, efficient way for designers to tap directly into predefined wall elements and streamline their design process. It can be downloaded for free on our site or via Ajour System's digital platform.
