The International Straw Building Conference is the worldwide biennial event where the straw building community shares new learnings. The 2027 edition, hosted by RFCP in Nantes, is the third professional congress dedicated to straw in renovation and rehabilitation, built around making straw renovation projects reliable, high-performing and repeatable: regulatory frameworks, field experience, proven techniques and emerging solutions, closing with international perspectives from Europe and North America. It draws building owners, architects and specifiers, craftspeople and contractors, design offices, technical inspectors and insurers, training organisations and local authorities.
EcoCocon will take part across the four days. This is the room where the questions that decide whether straw renovation scales — moisture, fire, inspection, insurance, repeatability — are worked through by the people doing the work, and where we bring our own record to the table, from single-family retrofits to the 12-storey ETC Hyllie project in Malmö.
